Introducing Doug Black - CEO

SiteOne is pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Black as Chief Executive Officer effectively immediately.  Doug succeeds Dave Werning, who will remain with John Deere Landscapes through the end of the year working with Doug to ensure a smooth transition.

"I've been very fortunate to have spent my entire 38 year working career with SiteOne, with the last 14 at SiteOne being the best by some margin," said Werning.  "Getting a chance to get to know the professionals that we are privileged to work with was definitely the highlight and most rewarding."

Doug Black graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and served as an Engineering Officer out of Fort Stewart, Georgia.  When you meet Doug, ask him about his journey to becoming an All-American running back and setting Army's single season rushing record.

After his military experience Doug earned an MBA from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business and then gained valuable experience and insight through his work as an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company.  McKinsey is a world-wide leading consulting company.

Doug Black is the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Atlanta, GA-based Oldcastle, Inc., a $12.6 billion building materials manufacturer and distributor and wholly owned subsidiary of Irish-based CRH, plc.  During Black's 18-year career with Oldcastle, he helped build the company from $900 million in sales to the leader in North American building materials through strong internal and acquisitive growth and industry-leading operating performance.

During his tenure at Oldcastle, Doug served as Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer at both Oldcastle Materials and Oldcastle Architectural Products, which are strategic suppliers to John Deere Landscapes.  In addition, he was President of Oldcastle Precast Southeast Division and, as VP Development for Oldcastle, Inc., established Oldcastle's distribution division with the acquisition of Allied Building Products.
